TranSquat - iPhone app is a gender neutral bathroom finder that locates bathrooms that are gender free relative to your current location.
From the source website:
Friends, and friends of iPhone. Hi, my name is Billy. I wrote an iPhone app called TranSquat. In a nutshell, it is a gender neutral bathroom finder that locates bathrooms that are gender free relative to your current location. You can search, add and share safe locations. It was written by and for the trans community. It is powered by data from safe2pee. You can help build the app by downloading and adding locations in your own communities.
On a personal note, I wanted to write an app for the trans community. It is also my fundraising goal to get 3000 downloads to help finance my surgery with Dr. Charles Garammone. So far, I only have 2956 to go. Every download helps.
Even better, if you would like to support this project you can donate to my top surgery fund at:
http://billyjack.chipin.com/dr-garramone . Any help appreciated.
Finally, if you could share this with others whom might find this app useful and would like to support this project that would be much appreciated too!!!Download it here:
Could be useful for people with better phones than mine…

Oh god. Look at that face.
Why would you do this to me?
Oh hey you.
The most gorgeous man in history, bar none. Except maybe for Malcolm X.

just gonna repost this because of reasons
This has to be one of the most wonderfully queer things I’ve ever seen. This is exactly what I want my queercore band’s videos to look like.

If people do not actively combat a political regime which oppresses them, it may not be because they have meekly imbibed its governing values. It may be because they are too exhausted after a hard day’s work to have much energy left to engage in political activity, or because they are too fatalistic or apathetic to see the point of opposing the regime; or they may spend too much time worrying about their jobs and mortgages and income tax returns to give it much thought. Ruling classes have at their disposal a great may techniques of ‘negative’ social control, which are a good deal more prosaic and material than persuading their subjects that they belong to a master race or exhorting them to identify with the destiny of the nation.
[n.b. immiseration is as good a technique of control as inspiration, or even the misidentification of the needs of the ruling classes as your own. Along with force, a technique of increasing the rate of exploitation (austerity) can be a technique for reducing the capacity of the working class for resistance.] (via itsworsethanthat)

930) It seems like every online trans group I look at is filled with people with either haven’t started HRT yet or started in the last year. I think every girl who actually passes gets fed up with the bullshit and just stops coming to groups. I sort of feel it myself, as one of the girls in the group I visit is utterly insufferable. I don’t want to cause drama, but either I’m going to eventually lose my composure and tell her to fuck off, or I’m going to be driven out by her attitude.
Ugh, if only this weren’t true (at least with the support-related online groups I used to frequent last year). I’ve been one of those types to stop going to my IRL group, but it’s not because I don’t love my trans-feminine sisters there (whom I try to see outside of the group), but because I got a bit fed up being in meetings that were upwards of 5:1 or more trans-masculine to trans-feminine. I’m feeling like I can support myself well enough that I really don’t need to sit through two hour meetings that frequently devolve into loud discussions of some of my biggest dysphoria triggers (facial hair, gym locker rooms, etc.). Because of this, I’m of the mind nowadays that such groups (support groups, not political spaces) should either be separated in order to avoid this kind of mutual triggering, or be very very closely matched in terms of numbers and activity.

You ever have that one person who if you don’t talk to at least once during the day, everything feels just wrong and empty and you end up with a major case of the lonelies?
I don’t talk to many people and most I don’t speak to every single day, but there are people that if I don’t see them post on tumblr for more than 2 days in a row, I start to worry they might be dead :c
Yup I do.
Totally! If I don’t hear the leprechaun who tells me to burn things, I get mad depressed :-(

Laura Grace takes the stage in San Diego for the first time!
The title of this article is a heap of fail, but otherwise I really like it! One’s first show after coming out is a momentous occasion, in my opinion, and here it’s documented well. Laura Jane Grace seems to have handled it beautifully. And the descriptions of fans are so sweet—concerned with the venue and all.
And that picture of her. She’s so gorgeous and powerful looking in it that I literally forgot about breathing for a minute or two.
Yaaay!!!! I cannot even imagine how hard it must have been getting up on that stage. I’m out to most people I know and my band has just barely more than zero fans who ever come out to our shows, but I still haven’t been able to bring myself to be myself during a show because of how much sitting in front of people who are explicitly staring at every little thing you do makes you more self conscious than you ever thought you could be. And her wife deserves a healthy heaping of recognition, too, for seemingly being incredibly amazing about the whole process to the point of coming on the tour. Also I love the fan who gendered hercorrectly six times in a single sentence, which is more times than my parents have correctly gendered me in months.

Black woman tears up Oakland City Council
(in response to May Day repression of Occupy Oakland and a newly proposed law that would make it illegal for revolutionaries to carry shields and barricades during marches)
“You’re asking why we need our shields for self defense? After a grenade went off behind my head at 12 in the afternoon and gave me something [PTSD] that soldiers coming back from Iraq have? …The policy don’t need to be changed. We’ve got reform crammed so far up our ass it’s clouding our judgement. The police need to be held accountable… and I’m not a nihilist, but I wish I could BURN EVERY FUCKING THING DOWN, except for the houses, so that people could begin to understand that we don’t need this system to survive… There are people being arrested for trying to start farms…!
DON’T SILENCE ME, don’t you fucking DARE. I am SO TIRED… and if you cut off this mic, I’ll still have a mouth… what you’re dealing with is more than rage…
As a black woman, I’m telling you… you’re not serving the people! You’re only serving capitalism. And if you take our shields, the only thing we have left is our second amendment rights— SO IF WE SHOOT BACK…!
YOU DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO ARREST ME!”
